As a significant strategic step in Chinese biological sciences and technologies, National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing has played an important role in the fundamental research of biological sciences, talent training, the exploration of scientific research mechanism, etc. and has undertaken the task of setting up the experimental field for Chinese sci-tech reform. It is located in Zhongguancun Life Science Park with a total floorage of 32,296 m2, in which four floors overground of Laboratory Building occupy 14,830 m2, one floor underground occupy 3,668 m2, F1 of the Office Building occupies 2,185 m2, F2 occupies 1,287m2, F3 Administrative Area 810  m2.

As an essential national research base in biological sciences and technologies, laboratories and sci-tech centers are major parts of National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing.
